An app for reducing alcohol intake in student associations
During the master New Media Design at Tilburg University I took the course ‘Digital Health Communication’. In groups, we were asked to conceptualize and design a digital health application. Me and my group chose to focus on reducing binge drinking in student associations, since this is a common problem nowadays.
The application we created allows students to make groups and set different types of goals, such as water goals (Drink x glasses of water), money goals (Do not spend more than x euros) and calorie goals (Do not consume over x kcal) for a certain period. All members of the group log their drinks in the app, and together they are responsible for accomplishing the goals. This shared responsibility and the fact that all members are able to monitor each other’s input can help to reduce the group members’ alcohol intake.
The full prototype can be found here.
