Below you will find some of the UX/UI design and research projects that I have worked on during my studies. All of these are study projects which I have done during my master New Media Design at Tilburg University. Click on any of the projects to find out more about it.
About me
I’m Gavin – 27 years old and living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In April 2021 I graduated from my master New Media Design. I have a broad education in IT, with a focus on design and user experience. I love conceptualizing and creating innovative and creative digital products, with a strong focus on usability and user experience. My goal is to create products that make people’s lives easier. Currently I am working as a UX designer for Heart for Health, a company that works on digitalizing health care.

EDUCATION
BSc Information Science @ University of Amsterdam
During my bachelor information science I learned to investigate how people perceive, communicate and use technology. I also learned about the way companies and organizations deal with large amounts of information (data science). I have also developed skills for inventing, developing and implementing ICT applications. During the study I also followed the minor Programming.
MSc New Media Design @ Tilburg University
New Media Design is a specialization within the master Communication and Information Sciences. During the master I gained experience and knowledge about interactive technology, design processes, creativity and how people use new media. In addition, I learned the skills to be able to make designs, to test them and to advise clients and clients on process or design improvements. During my master’s thesis, I research an interactive personalized decision aid for colon cancer patients.
EXPERIENCE
Intern @ KLM Digital
As an intern at KLM I contributed to the development and improvement of Flightguide and Rate The Flight. In addition, I did research into improving the booking flow for my bachelor’s thesis.
UX Designer @ Heart for Health
As a UX designer at Heart for Health I devise and visualize all functionalities of the electronic health record MedicalPortal. I advise colleagues about the accessibility and usability of new features and test them with the users.
